How to adjust the backlash of Slewing bearing and pinion

When the toothed slewing bearing(www.slew-bearing.com) and the ring gear are installed, the torsional side clearance between the slewing connection and the pinion, the ring gear(www.slew-bearing.com) and the pinion should be adjusted.

1. Adjust the torsional side clearance to the given rating at the green marked point (the point of tightest engagement).

Rated value δf unit mm：

δf = 0.03 bis 0.04 x m m = module unit mm（Get it from the drawing）

Rated value δf unit inch：

δf = 0.03 至 0.04 x 1/Pd Pd = Dimeter pitch，unit 1/in（Get it from the drawing）

Notice! It can neither exceed nor fall below the given ratings. Failure to observe this rule may damage the slewing ring(www.slew-bearing.com). Attention must be paid to the position of the segment hardened teeth or segment teeth.

2.The torsional side clearance can be checked with a feeler gauge.

If the value at the tightest point of the toothing deviates from the given value, the belt pinion must be moved to correct the wheelbase.

If the pinion cannot move, the wheelbase must be adjusted by loosening, moving or re-fixing the slewing bearing. If the above operations will affect the existing centering position, please interrupt the installation and immediately contact Xuzhou Wanda Slewing Bearing Service Department

3.Finally, move the slewing bearing throughout the adjustment range. During this process, pay attention that there should be no factors affecting the production process.

Due to factors such as gear vibration, installation error, tooth deviation, etc., the torsional side clearance at the farthest point of the paired gear may be significantly larger.

In the pinion, it should be noted that its module and meshing angle are consistent with the slewing bearing. Instructions can be obtained from the drawings.
