The slewing ring is a rotary rolling or plain bearing. It usually supports heavy loads but slow or slow swinging loads, usually horizontal platforms. For example, a windward platform for a conventional crane, encoder or horizontal axis windmill. Slewing bearings have a thin cross section compared to other rolling bearings, typically having a diameter of 1 meter or more. The gear teeth are integrated with the inner race or the outer race to drive the platform relative to the base.Next, I will tell you the reasons and solutions for the inflexibility of the slewing ring bearing.

Introduction of slewing bearings

Slewing bearings are large bearings that can withstand combined loads, large axial loads, radial loads and overturning moments. There are generally mounting holes, internal gears or external gears, lubrication holes and sealing devices. It makes the mainframe compact and easy to boot and maintain. It has a toothless type, an external tooth type and an internal tooth type. Widely used in a variety of large rotating devices.

Reason for not moving

1. If the newly purchased product is not flexible. First, you need to check the date of manufacture of the slewing ring. If the time is long and the weather is cold, impurities such as salt spray may appear on the raceway, which may cause malfunction.

2. The inflexibility of the slewing ring installation may be due to the fact that it does not match the mounting surface of the main unit. Therefore, the axial clearance after installation cannot compensate for the deformation; or in the negative clearance state, the rolling elements are difficult to run on the raceway; or the poorly meshed gears; or there are foreign objects on the large and small gears.

3. The operation is not flexible during use. This is because the seal is damaged, causing foreign matter to enter the raceway. (If the working conditions are poor, dust or the like will wet the inside of the cable duct).

Solution

1. If the newly purchased product is not flexible, you can work harder. If it works normally after afterburning, there is no other abnormality, it can be used normally.

2. If the installation is not flexible, then the host installation plane needs to be reworked. To make the installation plane meet the requirements; to re-adjust the gear mesh side clearance size, pay special attention to the gear runout position; check the gear meshing position size without foreign matter; or replace the slightly larger gap slewing bearing.

3. If it is not flexible in use, it is necessary to check the size of the gear meshing, as well as the presence or absence of foreign objects or broken teeth.

Conclusion

In general, the rotation of the slewing ring is inflexible, which is generally caused by the above three reasons. Of course, there are also three solutions to the above situation. Slewing bearings are now widely used, and of course there are a variety of types that may be available. Some sizes may not be available directly, but can be tailored to each individual's specific needs, so there is no need to worry about the lack of proper size.
