The slewing ring of an excavator is a core component that connects the upper structure (cab, working device) and the lower structure (chassis, crawler) of the excavator. Its key feature is to bear multiple loads simultaneously and achieve smooth 360° rotation.


I. Core Features: Dual Core of Load-Bearing and Rotation


1. Strong Composite Load-Bearing Capacity

It can simultaneously bear three main types of loads generated during the excavator's operation, and is a key component for the excavator's overload resistance. The specific loads include:

Radial load: Horizontal force generated when the bucket is excavating, for example.

Axial load: Vertical force caused by the weight of the entire machine and the materials being loaded.

Overturning moment: Moment generated when the entire machine tilts during operation.


2. High-Precision Rotation Performance

The internal structure adopts a high-precision raceway and rolling element design, which results in low resistance and controllable clearance during rotation. This ensures the accurate positioning of the bucket and boom, and prevents phenomena such as "boom sagging" or rotation jamming during operation.


3. Integrated Structural Design

It usually integrates the inner ring, outer ring, rolling elements, seals and lubrication channels. There is no need to assemble additional complex components; it can be directly connected to the upper and lower structures of the excavator via bolts, which simplifies the overall structure of the machine.


4. Strong Environmental Adaptability

It has excellent sealing and anti-corrosion capabilities. Special seals are used to prevent soil, water, dust and other impurities from entering the interior. At the same time, the surface of the outer ring or inner ring is treated with anti-rust measures, enabling it to adapt to harsh working conditions such as mines and muddy areas.


II. Key Design Characteristics: Adapted to Excavator Working Conditions

Large Diameter and Thin Section: The diameter usually ranges from 1 meter to several meters, and the section is relatively thin. This design ensures structural strength while reducing the occupation of the excavator's overall height.

Integrated Gear Ring: The inner ring or outer ring of most slewing rings is directly processed with internal teeth or external teeth, which can mesh directly with the gear of the slewing motor. There is no need to install an additional independent gear ring, resulting in higher transmission efficiency.

Multi-Point Lubrication Channels: Multiple grease injection ports are reserved, allowing regular replenishment of grease into the raceway. This reduces component wear and extends the service life.
